The Conservation Activity Programme aims to support activities and education conducted by teachers, students, NGO staff, and other concerned individuals, within the scope of nature conservation in developing countries. Applicants must be local residents in developing countries. |

| Applicants eligible for grant |
An applicant must
- be a national of a developing country, preferably in the Asia Pacific region;
- belong to an organisation that is engaged in nature conservation;
- propose a project for nature conservation in his/her own country;
- be a representative of the proposed project; and
- have sufficient experience in conservation work to conduct the proposed project.

| Grant |
Maximum of 600,000 Japanese yen as a total grant per project. An annual grant can not exceed 300,000 Japanese yen. |
| Obligations as a grantee |
- To submit an English progress report of 500 to 700 words with several photographs once every six months after its commencement.
- To submit a full English report of approximately 3,000 words with several photographs and a detailed financial report once every year.

If the project is to run for more than one year, applicants are required to submit a work plan with a detailed budget for the following year at the end of each budget year. The NEF will review the work plan together with the reports stated in obligation 2 above. Adjustments will be made to the amount of the grant for the following year if the performance is deemed unsatisfactory. |
