In addition to support in the form of funds, the NEF has held national and international workshops for students since 2004 as support to younger generations of future conservationists. The aim of these workshops is to provide students with opportunities for expanding knowledge and practical skills in conservation and sharing cultures and experiences with other students. These workshops are carried out with the supports of local communities, local NGOs, national parks, local researchers/experts, scholarship counterparts, and any other people who work for nature conservation. We sincerely appreciate their support and understanding for these workshops.
A workshop lasts for a few days to a week. During this period, the participants join a wide variety of programmes related to nature conservation. For example, they attend lectures, present their own research, visit research facilities, practice research skills in the field, and so on.
Two workshops have been held in Indonesia and Vietnam to date. The NEF Student International Workshop 2008 will be held in Sabah, Malaysia, with the support of Universiti Malaysia Sabah. |
