Tagane Team Conducts Field Survey in Laos (2025.09.29)
The team led by Associate Prof. Shuichiro Tagane of Kagoshima University conducted a field survey in Laos from September 13 to 24, 2025. Details of the survey are available in Project Updates of Plant diversity assessment in limestone karsts in Laos and Vietnam.
Suzuki Team Conducts Field Survey in Bangladesh (2025.09.22)
A research team led by Assistant Prof. Ai Suzuki from Ritsumeikan University conducted the third survey of the FY2025 in Bangladesh from September 4 to 12, 2025. Launch of the Japanese Researcher Support Program (2025.08.27)
We have launched a dedicated webpage for the newly established Japanese Researcher Support Program (Research Grant), which is designed specifically for Japanese researchers. While the program is limited to Japanese nationals, local researchers in the target countries may participate as co-researchers. Please note that the first call for applications for the 2025 fiscal year is already open.
Members of Prof. Motokawa's Team Visited the NEF Office (2025.08.21)
On August 20, 2025, Prof. Masaharu Motokawa (Kyoto University) visited the NEF office with a team of ten members, including six collaborators from Laos and Vietnam, one researcher from Cambodia, a postdoctoral researcher affiliated with Kyoto University and employed under this project, and a graduate student from Prof. Motokawa’s laboratory. They presented their research achievements to date using slides and videos, and also brought printed reports. In addition, we had a productive discussion on the collaboration framework and support strategies for this fiscal year. The team is also scheduled to participate in the upcoming Annual Meeting of the Mammal Society of Japan in Sapporo, where they will also host an open session.

Associate Prof. Shuichiro Tagane of Kagoshima University and his team have published a plant field guide for the Nam Kading National Protected Area in Laos.
