In order to conserve the natural environment and ecosystems, comprehensive approach is required from the level of experts, researchers, law makers, policy makers, and most notably the ordinal citizens who have accurate scientific knowledge and strong will. However, it is difficult to say that such human resources have been sufficiently developed.
Under the Scholarship Scheme, the Nagao Natural Environmental Foundation (NEF) supports those students who are willing to study the subjects related to the natural environment but not have enough financial resources for university level studies and offers opportunities for local students to gain filed experience through participating in field activities related to the nature conservation. This support is given aiming at developing human resources in developing countries of Southeast Asia who understand natural science and intend to work in the field of the nature conservation in the future.
The Scholarship Scheme is carried out possible by the generous support of the counterpart institutions and organisations of the target countries.
